Analytical Exposition: Corruption and Indonesian Culture

http://www.dw.de/image/0,,15834407_404,00.jpg

Corruption has happened for many years and today it becomes a bad culture in Indonesia for three reasons.
Most adult Indonesian or foreigners have known and admitted that corruptions happen in many places. The daily newspapers, news programs on TV and radio have reported corruptions are done everywhere, almost in all departments or public services of this country. Corruptions happen in health, education departments and banks. When we manage to get some documents in public service offices, we usually need much money to pay. Manipulations happen everywhere.
The actions to eliminate corruption are weak. The ever stronger culture seems not to come to an end when the responsible institutions who have to reinforce the justice today commit corruption. This is the worst. Corruptions happen in police department, courts where judges, public prosecutors, lawyers make deals to do corruption. All of us also heard in the end of 2004, Probosutejo reported that he had bribed the Supreme Court, or called Mahkamah Agung which becomes the highest level where the justice can be obtained. Perhaps you have to try to come to the local courts and see what happen there. You will see practices of bribery and other kinds of corruption. Therefore, we can say that corruptions become our culture. Do you like it?
The citizens have no goodwill to fight against the corruption. They create the situations in which people have opportunities to do corruptions. The citizens like to break the rules because they are not disciplined. For example, in the street when they drive a car or ride motorcycle, they do not have the driving license or necessary documents. Then, they are caught by the local policemen. To avoid more difficulties, they like to bribe the officer. The officer let them go then. In other words, the citizens and officers are the same, doing corruption together. If only the people were critical, disciplined, and obey the rules, and willing to report any wrong behaviors, this country will not be number one corrupting country in the world.
Conclusion Based on the reasons, we can conclude that corruption is becoming a bad culture in Indonesia if it is not ended soon by all of us. It seems that there must be more severe penalty for the Corruptors. Do we still care about the future of this country?

Review text: Negeri 5 Menara

http://nyonyakim.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/n5m-8.jpg
A different theme has been introduced in a film based on the novel by Ahmad Fuadi and directed by Affandi Abdul Rahman.
“Negeri 5 Menara”, a film produced by Simple Pictures/KG Productions/Million Pictures/IB Perbankan Syariah is one of Indonesian movies that is produced to educate the audience and shown a different angle of an Islamic education institution, called Pesantren, on how to pursue the future success by implementing a spirit of ‘Man Jadda Wajada’, meaning that every person who is taking effort seriously will be succeed.
A traditional atmosphere and beautiful scene of Maninjau Lake in West Sumatera has become a background of the story where Alif and his family live. Alif is a student who just completed his study in a junior high school and willing to go to java for taking a higher education in a secular school as a part of his dream to study at the famous Technical College in Bandung, ITB.
His mother has a different plan for him, she urged Alif to take Islamic school and spending four years to gain a religious subject combined with a modern knowledge before to go to college.
Alif had no choice, as he does not want to disappoint his mother then he go to a small town in Java, Ponorogo, accompanied by his father to enroll Islamic school “ Pondok Madani”. His father said to him to take and try it first and after that Alif can decide whether the school is fit for him or not.
The exposure completely in a combination of today’s modern culture and ethics of Islamic living, in Pondok Madani as an Islamic school, With Six students and some chaplains moving in and out of the film, the movie is something about refreshment for a sense of curiosity who appear on every person who never know inside of Pesantren or Islamic School culture.
Though the script is simple, the dialogues are crisp. All the performances are excellent, especially for some new comer such as: Alif (Gazza Zubizaretta ), Raja Lubis (Jiofani Lubis) , Said Jufri (Ernest Samudra) , Dulmajid (Aris Putra) , Atang (Rizki Ramdani) and Baso Salahuddin (Billy Sandy). These six students stirs-off some comedy sequences. The capability to connect a modern life activities and Islamic roles is well interpreted throughout the movie.
Affandi Abdul Rahman treats Fuadi’s book as a precious script to be handled carefully , get all the points in there, however making it into a film has proved difficult, when reading the book you can imagine some dialogue created by those six students is very deep but in the movie it become a simple conversation.

Explanation Text: How Wave is Formed

Wave is a raised line of water which moves across the surface of an area of water, especially the sea. Do you know how the wave is formed?
This is the mechanism how the wave is formed. First, turbulent wind flows form random pressure fluctuations at the sea surface. Small waves with a few centimeters order of wavelengths is generated by the pressure fluctuations. Second, the cross wind keep acting on the initially fluctuated sea surface, then the wave become larger. As the wave become larger, the pressure differences get larger along to the wave growing, then the wave growth rate is getting faster. Then the shear instability expedites the wave growing exponentially. After that the interactions between the waves on the surface generate longer waves and the interaction will transfer wave energy from the shorter waves to the waves have slightly lower frequencies than the frequency at the peak wave magnitudes, then finally the waves will be faster than the cross wind speed.
